German Chancellor Fellows (BUKAs) form a special group among the alumni of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Younger at the time of selection and oriented towards career enhancement rather than advanced research, German Chancellor Fellows spend a portion of their year involved in activities as a group. The intensity of the shared experiences creates a strong bond among the members of any single “class.” Read testimonials from recent BUKAs here.
A weekend meeting for all U.S. alumni of the BUKA program is held every three years. The most recent meeting took place in Washington, DC in October 2016. Alumni are encouraged to recruit potential applicants and to develop a professional network by connecting with BUKAs listed on the pages of this website.
